e911

Since the inception of VoIP, e911 and Safety Services have been of serious concern to those using this technology.  These platforms are also under an ever-increasing watchful eye of regulators.  SmartPacketIP is well-versed in regulations and will guide you through the process.

Also known as Enhanced 911 or Accurate Safety Services.

The FCC requires all VoIP providers to include location/safety service information to end user (callers) within the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). We will ensure that your configuration complies and is routed to the proper location and specific end point area.  For example, you’ll want your endpoint to reflect 123 Main Street, second floor, rear left quadrant vs. the address of your company headquarters which is likely in another state.  SmartPacketIP will present several options to ensure the safety of your staff.

Nomadic 911

With the growing deployment of softphones/mobile clients, and even the flexibility of moving a physical handset, Nomadic 911 is becoming increasingly more important. Nomadic 911 means that if you are a VoIP user dialing 911 from a different location than the one you’ve registred with and is associated with an IP address, emergency response dispatch personnel will still be able to determine your location and dispatch help.  This feature can be added to specific users/numbers and SmartPacketIP will analyze your end point usage patterns to recommend potential enhancements. For example, if an employee travels often and uses a mobile client, you want to ensure responders identify their correct location if they call 911 from a hotel or home office, etc.
